Salted Maple Is the Flavor of Fall—Here Are 15 Recipes to Try It
I have a confession to make: I kind of hate pumpkin spice. When the Starbucks fall drinks come out every August, I’m the person who rolls their eyes at everyone waiting in line for PSLs, and I mostly walk past all the pumpkin spice paraphernalia lining the shelves at Trader Joe’s come September. While I’m all for romanticizing fall and making the most of the season, for me, pumpkin spice is just not a part of it that I enjoy. There is, however, another fall flavor that I believe is so criminally underrated that I had to write an entire story about it, and that is salted maple. This particular ingredient combination just tastes like fall to me and also happens to go well with so many of the foods I tend to associate with autumn: baked goods, coffee, breakfast pastries, and more.
Salted maple is subtler than pumpkin spice but just as cozy, and it’s the fall flavor I’ll be turning to all season long (starting with a homemade salted maple latte to kick off my mornings—trust me). If you’re similarly over pumpkin spice but still want to enjoy some seasonal treats, these salted maple recipes are the perfect fix:
1. Brown Butter Maple Blondies
2. Salted Maple Pecan Pie Energy Bites
3. Maple Pecan Pound Cake
4. Salted Maple Granola
5. Maple Brown Sugar Cookies
6. Homemade Salted Maple Pecan Butter
7. Maple Glazed Doughnuts
8. Maple Kettle Corn
9. Maple Cookies
10. Salted Maple Power Coffee
11. Maple Meringue Cookies
12. Healthy Soft Pumpkin Cookies with Salted Maple Frosting
13. Salted Maple Pecan Pie Bars
14. Maple Scones
15. Glazed Maple Shortbread Cookies
